  1. I load my avi with ac3 sound into tmpgenc using the n00b wizard so i can convert it to mpeg2 to author on dvd. The problem is that the ac3 sound doesnt load. Is there a plugin ( for tmpgenc 2.51) so i can load the ac3 sound (into tmpgenc) and just convert it to 2 channel standard pcm ?

  2. Why converting the ac3 to lpcm ???

Simply extract it with virtualdub and then add it to you video in your dvd authoring software. With LPCM you lost a large amount of space which can be used to increase the video bitrate.

Simply encode you avi to mpeg2 (video only). The authoring software will multiplex ac3 and m2v into vob.

  3. Well what im try to do is stick to compliancy standards . If i demux the ac3 , convert the video, then add ac3 sound in dvd lab (will dvdlab support this?) will it still be a compliant dvd?

yes, ac3 is dvd compliant(just check so it is 48khz) and you can import it in dvdlab. use virtualdubmod to demux the ac3,
