  1. Been using TMPGEnc DVD Author for about a week now and getting pretty familiar with it.

Tried to reauthor three children's DVDs (30 min each) into one TDA project. It worked. I had a main menu that started when the re-authored DVD was put in. On the main menu I had three selections for each of the three titles. All video played fine and audio was fine too.

The only things that I didn't expect are the following:

The titles aren't treated as chapters. When I'm in the middle of watching the first title and press "next" on the remote (to get to the next title), it does nothing. I couldn't even get the main menu to come back up by pressing the "menu" button (eventually figured out that the "title" button would bring the main menu up.) Could not even power off the DVD player via the remote. Had to press the button on the actual player.

Any idea how I can get around these nuisances? How can titles be treated as chapters? That's essentially the behavior that I want.

Also noticed that before the VIDEO_TS folder was made, got the following warning message regarding the third of the three tracks:

"The combined bitrate of the clip exceeds the upper limit for a Standard DVD"....... The current bitrate is: video 9800kbps, audio 192 kbps, combined 9992 kbps. The combined video and audio bitrate can be no more than 9.848 Mbps (9848 kbps)."

I tried to diddle with the settings for that track but could not find any option to lower the video bitrate. The DVD player appeared to play that track just fine.

Is there a way to adjust this bitrate? Is there a FAQ on here regarding bitrate? I'd like to know more about it.

    Thanks.

    Hello,
Did you select menu and track page or menu only? On the menu setup section there are 4 or 5 options. I forgot which one is which but that's how you setup your menus. Also, if you add all the clips to one title it might behave differently than you expect. You can add each clip as a completely different track. When you add clips on the left side is add new title, put them in there and maybe it will work better.

P.S. Sorry I can't make it clearer, I'm at work right now and can't pull up the program to tell you where the stuff is. Good luck. Also the bitrate shouldn't matter if your player read your first effort.
