For the longest time i have been using apple disc's but recently i tried memorex dvd's, and almost everytime i try to burn a dvd, i get a hardware error. I am wondering if this is a common problem with memorex disc's or something with Toast6? I am using a powerbook G4 with a combo drive.

I've used Memorex a number of times w/out any problems on my superdrive, and they should be a reputable brand too. I'd say check your updates and use disk utilities and repair permissions and post back your results- Good luck!

Well, the problem has not gotten any better. I am about use about 3 dvd's per movie. But i believe my problem is that i have never updated my toast 6. And the dvd's came with a warning that i needed to make sure the software and i had was compatable with at least 4x downloads. but i am not positive, because i have used the apple 4x before without a problem.

Memorex media comes from many sources and is not consistently reliable. One spool can have good results and another poor results.

This is true, but usually I haven't had any problems with them- there is website that explains this... don't remember what it is, but if anyone does post it for him
(the one that tells what grade dvds are and what companies buy these disks... wait- www.nomorecoasters.com)
Give this webpage a look and make up your mind for yourselfPeace-
