Hi everyone. I just received Pinnacle Studio 8 form a friend. I was playing around with it today and trying to create a small movie so I could learn all its different features. I captured about 50 min of video via the firwire port from my Sony dv handycam. I then went into the edit screen and started to build my movie by adding a menu screen, intro screens etc. and using the "transitions" to fade in and out of each slide. Here is my problem. When I preview the movie in the preview screen, it will play the 1st 3 slides without a problem, then when it transitions between slide 3 and 4 it has a long delay and the screen stays black. I made sure that all the slides and transitions had the same duration length but it doesn’t seem to matter. Anyone else experience this? My 2nd issue is that when inserting slides / title screens, sometimes when I insert a new slide between 2 existing slides, one of the existing slides disappears!! I totally loose it and I have to replace it. Very, very weird....Anyway, if anyone that uses the program can help me that would be great. I really like the programs features and it seems like you can make a pretty professional movie with it, if it worked more stable. Thanks

  3. Maybe you'll have to reinstall the software. I had this problem and I reinstalled the program and did the upgrade. So, I have no more problems.
    Sorry my English.

  5. I use PS8 a lot for video editing. It's the most user friendly software in this regard.
First, the speed and graphic display of your PC should be decent for fast response time. A 900Mhz or faster CPU should be fine.
When you insert title/menu, it's best to view in the story board format first (each clip is a box on the lower half of the screen), then you can drag a menu or title to anywhere you want. The menu or title will also become a new box. That's how I do add transition and title.
    Give this a try.
