Hello
In the past I have used TMPGENC Plus and TMPGENC DVD Author to create my DVD's from home video. Prior to creating the DVD I always split the sound and movie, using TMPGENC to encode video only from the avi and FFMPEGGUI to create the AC3 file.
I have had no problems putting these two together in TMPGENC DVD Author to create the output files. However, I recently tried using Adobe Encore and noticed that the AC3 file appeared to be a lot shorter than than the movie file.
I was going to ask the question why Encore would show this to be the case, but as I am typing this I have thought of something else. I gave up with Encore and went back to TMPGENC DVD Author as I was running out of time. I produced the finished DVD and burnt it to DVDRW. When testing I noticed that the video froze at the forth chapter and jumped back to the menu. I tried the following steps:
*re-burnt the image
*recreated the vob files and reburnt the image
*created a new Author project, left out chapters/menus etc and reburnt the image
None of these solutions fixed the problem, but it did prove that the chapter bit was pure coincidence as without chapters it still happened at the same point. My next step was going to be re-encoding the AVI file. However I just thought that the AC3 file was approx 19 minutes long (video was 35mins) pretty much exactly where the movie froze.
So, now I am thinking the problem may lie with FFMPEGGUI. I will try re-capturing the AC3 file from the AVI when i get home this evening, but whilst I am here, has anyone had any similar experiences?
Apologies fot the length of this post, but I'm kind of typing as I think.
Cheers

Hello
I can now confirm that when extracting the sound from an AVI file produced by Adobe Premier Pro, FFMPEGGUI ends up with a file that is shorter than the video length.
Any Ideas. Or does anyone know another software that will pull the sound from an AVI to AC3 format so I can test that as well.
Help would be appreciated. -
OK
Just to finish this post off all by my self, this is what happened.
I was originally trying to pull the audio from the outputed AVI file from Premier Pro using FFMPEGGUI. This was coming up about 16 minutes shorter than the movie. When trying to create dvd using TMPGENC Author this was causing problems.
I resolved the issue by extracting the sound from the Premier Pro project into a wav format using Premier Pro and then converting to AC3 using FFMPEGGUI. The length was then correct.
I do not know why this was happening, but there you go. What can you do!!!----Figured it out yet?
