I am struggling with the audio synch problem. I followed Rumpy's guide https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=222898 on two different files and wound up with what looks like a dubbed kung fu movie in terms of audio synch.
So I read some more and I now have some questions that I would like to pose
1 - From what I can tell the reason not to just plug the avi into tmpgenc is that is does not produce an ac3 stream which means it is not fully DVD compliant. True or False
2 - What will tmpgenc do if I put in an avi with a VBR audio stream? It doesn't complain and appears to be happily encoding along. Will it just encode a 'non-compliant' DVD?
3 - If the dvd will play in my dvd player should I really care if it is non-compliant?
4 - How does perfectly good avi produce an out of synch dvd. If I have ac3 audio that matches the video and demux it and then remux it to the m2v file and wind up skewed where is the problem likely occurring?
