Heres the situation.
I have converted my Home Movie DV streams into fully compliant DVD streams. Is it possible to simply copy the Video_TS folder onto a standard CD* and have it work in a standalone DVD player?
*I do not have a DVD writer.

That would be called a Mini-DVD, or cDVD. If you do a search through the dvd player list on this site you can see which DVD players can play this very non-standard format. Unfortunately I can probably count the players on one hand.
You may have to break down and buy a DVD writer to get hardware playback of your movies. Either that or you'll have to convert to one of the more supported CD based formats like VCD or SVCD. -
Thanks adam, much appreciated. *thumbs up*
I have a Philips 634 and the DVD list says that MiniDVD hasnt been tested. I shall try that later.
If that doesnt work, i shall try compiling a DATA CD in Nero and burning the VOB's to it- I read a review that said that worked
