I thought I remembered learning that any bill not passed into law by the Senate's Augest recess becomes a dead bill.


Sense the Senate is recessing for the augest, doesn't this mean that bills like the Induce and Pirate act are dead?

Since the Senate is recessing for August, doesn't this mean that bills like the Induce and Pirate Act are dead?

I can't be sure about the "recess dracula clause" (my own term), but the only way the Senate can pass a law is by getting with the House to over ride a president's previous veto of a bill.
