  1. Okay, I'm trying to figure out how to join 3 SVCD's into a single DVD and I'm having probs. I've got the SVCD files (BINs & CUEs) but I'm a little lost. I've gone through the tutorial that talks about using DV-Tool to merge, but it doesn't say if I should extract MPG files, merge the BIN files, etc. I'm a tad bit confused. Can anyone help shed some light? Thanks!!

well, if all of the files have the same dimensions, audio, etc, you can load the files into one title on TMPGEnc DVD Author

    I didn't know TDA would re-encode.
If you want an officially compliant DVD, you have to resize and
    re-encode.
I think ISObuster will extract the Mpeg2 files.
Then you have to resize to 352,704,720 x 480
    and re-encode.
Then you author with TDA or whatever

Some players aren't picky and might play 480x480 mpegs on a DVD
so you just extract MPEGS and author

If you haven't tried it, you might download a copy of SVCD2DVDMPG. It is a simple solution to merge and change SVCD or VCD to DVD. You need to install .net (Use the old 1.0x version to avoid MS BS) and use ISObuster to extract the SVCD BIN files. It converts the sound to 48K and modifies the SVCD 480X480 to work with DVDs.

  5. Okay, using ISOBuster and SVCD2DVDMPG I've gone from 3 sets Bin's/Cue's to 3 sets of MPA's and MPV's. Now I need to figure how how to get those 6 files merged and into DVD format. Can anyone either give me some tips, or point me to the right guides? I keep looking at guides but they don't seem to address working with MPA's and MPV's the way I need them to (merging and the like).

    Thanks again for the help.

Now you should be able to follow Invader Bugs advice and put them into TDA or other authoring program. They don't have to be joined, they will play consecutively one after the other automatically.

  7. Okay, I'm trying TDA. But what about the "resizing" bit that FOO mentioned. When I put all three files into TDA the output is like 2GB. I suppose we'll see if this works or not

Are we re-inventing the wheel? Do any of you know of a guide that will take me step by step that will:

Take 2 or more SVCD's and as an end result have the DVD structure to burn?

Thanks again for all your help.

  8. Looks like it worked... sorta . Looks like it came out at 25fps (I suppose that's PAL) so I gots to convert that to NTSC now. I'm on a mission now!!

  9. Looks like at the end of the day I've got it all worked out. I'm not looking for superior quality, just good-enough-until-the-DVD-comes-out quality.

I used the PAL:SVCD -> NTSC:SVCD guide, with a couple of small changes. I did everything until I got to the part where you re-encode it with TMPGenc using SVCD settings:

Instead of choosing the SVCD:NTSC template (wizard) I chose the DVD:NTSC (had to do that so it would resize it from 480X480 to something more DVD compliant [if there's a better way please let me know]). I also changed the 4:3 to 16:9 and also selected Film instead of Video. Everything else was the same.

Then using TDA I shlapped it all together and so far it's working like a champ.

So, thanks for all the help fellas, it's MUCHLY appreciated.
