Yes, you can do it - but it will take some effort on your part.
1) - Demux the vob files from the main movie into video and audio.
2) - Demux the vob files from the director's cut into video and audio.
3) - Load the 2 audio files into an Audio editor and mix them, making sure the final length (time) is the same as the main movie audio.
4) - Remux the new audio with the main movie.

Only problem is, if I mix the total lenth of the movies, they won't match. They have different video portion.
Right now I converted both ac3 files to wav. Cut just the voice over part and layed them over the main audio. I'm saving the file before I do anything else. Taking forever to save.

Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

The European release of Blade Runner (with the narration, additional gore and happy ending) is a bit longer than the Director's Cut, I think. Also, the Director's Cut has Deckard's unicorn dream sequence in it.
If you rip and demux the .m2v from the Director's Cut DVD and attempt to mux it with the captured audio from say, the Criterion laserdisc, you would have to do some cutting and lining up... but it seems like it is possible. -
Seems to be going ok.
Main problem is, the background noise and or music stays constant then all of a sudden the voice over jumps in.
I'll need to fade the main track right before and after in insertion clips.Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side. -
Going quite well. Had to use Goldwave to cut the clips out of the voice over then import them into Vegas.
One last hurdel.
The Dir Cut ends right at the elevator scene while the regular version doesn't.
There is one leftover clip that is at the end of the regular version while they are driving down a road.
What to do, what to do...
I'm thinking, of inserting it in right at the elevator scene. Little music in the voice over clip. Working on it.Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side. -
1st dry run.
Lucked out, all the sound bites are perfectly placed. Just need to fade a couple of scenes and bring up the db of the voice over clips.
Looking good.
3-4 more tests should do it.Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side. -
It came out great.
You know, sometimes... I even amaze myself.
Ok, back to reality.
Here are the times in case someone want to try it. These are the time lines of the Director's cut NOT the voice over version. So at 8:46:22 in the directo's cut "they don't advertise" get's inserted. All the clips start right at the point of the voice over with the exception of clip ten. 9.22 seconds before the voiceover is music. It works best if this music is left at the begining of the clip. You will need to fade-in the begining of that clip to bring up the sound slowly.
There are ten clips in all.
08:46:22 "they don't advertise..."
09:34:01 "Sushi..."
10:59:01 "the charmer's name was..."
12:13:08 "skin jobs, that's what..."
16:21:12 "I quit cause..."
25:23:09 "whatever was in the bathtub..."
35:56:15 "Tyrell really did a job on Rachel..."
59:02:18 "the report would be..."
1:47:31:08 " i don't know why he let me live..."
ok, the last clip in the original version takes place at the end when they (Dekerd-Rachel) are in the the car. The whole scene is omitted in the Dir cut so, I inserted it in right when they are leaving the apartment. I think it works quite well. The time is.

Clips (4 & 10) can be placed over the background noise. For (1-2-3-5-6-7-8-9) the background noise should be faded out of the main track.
Results will vary but, I found the voice over had to be raised by 3db. Some clips had to be raised 3db further to make them stand out like 2-4-6-7-9
Whew...Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.
