I need a command that I would call "Dissove Folders".
Imagine a folder full of sub folders. Now I want to get rid of the sub folders and have all of the contents togethor in the folder. I don't see any quick way to do this. I would need to open up two instances of this folder and then one by one open the sub folders and drag the contents into the main folder.
Currently I am trying to clean up my Start Menu. Every program puts it's own useless folder full of junk in my start menu. It's a big mess. I want to make all those sub folders vanish and then I will organize the items by type and delete all the useless stuff and just keep the programs themselves. (If I ever need any of that other junk it is still in my programs folder since the Start Menu only contains shortcuts).
This is only one example of a use for the Dissolve Folders Idea. Is there any such command or a utility to do this?

I would do a *.* search on the parent & sub folders then sort the results by location , cut and paste everything except stuff in the parent folder to the parent folder

Good suggestion. It's better than the way I've been doing it. I still think my "Dissolve Folders" idea would be even better.
