Is there a way to use Decrypter to burn with Windows 98? If the price of DL media ever comes down, I would like to try it. But I have Nero 5.5, which I think does not handle DL. The 4 gig file size limit means I can't create a single iso in 98. Is there a way to combine Shrink and Decyrpter to burn DL in 98? Or even DVD5 for that matter since an iso would be greater than 4 gig?
Have any of you actually verified that burning the same file on the same media with Decrypter produces fewer errors than Nero? And then replicated it?
    Thanks

  2. Hi all.

winifreid, the following is from DVD Shrink v3.2 version history.
Added automatic support for splitting ISO files if they are saved to a FAT32 partition. In this case a .MDS file is also output which can be burned with DVD Decrypter and mounted by Daemon Tools. MDS files can additionally be opened with DVD Shrink from the "Open Disc Image..." menu.

  3. For data DVDs (text files, zip files, etc.) use Deep Burner (free).

DVD Decrypter works fine in Win98. It even splits image files when you rip if it get bigger than four gigs. ImgTool Classic will also create split img files that DVD Decrypter will use. I used to do it all the time in Win98. I was stubborn and refused to "upgrade" to WinXP for the longest time.
