  1. All i want to do is burn an AVI onto DVD. I don't think it should be that hard.

    I have tried using Nero.
    I have tried using Tmpgnc
and the latest supposedly all in one wonder is The Film Machine

All these are supposed to do everything for you

All my films have 23.973 (or whatever it is) FPS and i am in England

Issue with Nero and TMP are what looks like missing frames
Issue with The film machine is it won't do the whole process, it dies at various points during it.

    Please please please help

  2. for a quick and easy fix,try winAVI,simple and fast.
and for burning the files after it,you could use nero, and just copy the contents of the "DISC0" folder into a VIDEO_TS folder in Nero, when you copy a dvd movie.
just make sure you have the divx/xvid codecs on your pc,winAVI will tell you at the beginning if you dont.

  3. I wonder if it is because you might have to convert NTSC to PAL, I'm probably wrong though.
    Blah, blah, blah

  4. Hello, Okay downloaded WinAVi trial. it is indeed very simple but i am having similar problems. Not the same but similar.

It is very jerky and the sound is slightly out of sync.

That is on my 2 stand alone players.

It does however play fine on my PC..

Any thoughts, this is driving me nuts.

Without using hundreds of different programs to do it, what is the easiest way to convert to PAL if that is the issue.
Doesn't WINAVI do this for you and i thought TMPgenc did this for you aswell.

This should be so easy !!

    Thx

TMPGENC PLUS will do it, it you pay attention to all the settings of the source and final files. There is no dummy-friendly way. You must take care while setting up the encodes.

  7. Okay Downloaded TMPGENC Plus.

I am trying to convert an avi which is 23.976fps to play on a stand alone DVD in PAL.

Compression codec is :XVID Mpeg 4
AVG Bit Rate is :940.24 kbit/s
    Keyframes :1557 ( every 83)

Wave Codec is :85 - Mpeg Layer 3
    avg bitrate: 131.17 kbit/s
    sampling rate: 48000 Hz

I got this info from The Film Machine program

What settings do you suggest because there seems to be alot.

Is there any tutorial that shows me this simple (ish) procedure ?

Let me know what other info you need to help me.

    thx

  9. You probably just need to select PAL for your encode. Tmpenc 2.5 plus has all these options and is fairly easy to use.
