Hello Major,
I've a .AVI that i can use as source in ffmpegx with my Powerbook, but impossible to use on a G5.
The error (only on the G5):
**ERROR: [yuvscaler] Could'nt read YUV4MPEG header!
**ERROR: [mpeg2enc] Could not read YUV4MPEG2 header: system error (failed read/write)!
Here's my 2 configurations:
1) PowerBook Titanium 867Mhz 768Mo 10.3.4
ffmpegx 0.0.9m with the new mencoder/mplayer/libs, mpeg2enc
2) G5 2x1,8 Ghz 1.5Gb 10.3.3
ffmpegx 0.0.9m (installed with the same downloaded files!)
On the PowerBook, when i drag and drop the source file (a divx) on the ffmpegx icon, i have the video size and the time correctly detected. I choose the DVD preset, check&load the subtitle, check Decode with mplayer (for the subtitle). So everythings works very well on the PowerBook.
On the G5, when i drag and drop the source file (a divx) on the ffmpegx icon, I DON'T have the video size and the time correctly detected
So i use the same preset that the PowerBook, and check DUAL cpu. When i hit encode, it failed:

Is it maybe a problem of permission?

PS: By the way, it's impossible to hide ffmpegx application. Only possible with the ffmpegx icon in the dock.
Thanks in advance,
Toche

Major,
It's a permission problem. I'm encoding right now with an admin session.
The file created is "stream.yuv" on the "top level" of the hard disk.
Is it possible to create that file on the current user folder?
Thank, thank, thank you,
