  1. Hard to explain what i mean. I added a picture where the Disney title is shown in front of a blue background. What happens is that around the white letters ugly artifacts appear. It's more disturbing while watching a video than in the picture. The rest of the video is top quality it only appears at the boarder of high contrast areas. I did Divx 5.2, 3-Pass slow mode, tried Psychovisual enhancements on/off (worst in fast mode, best in slow mode) Bitrate: 1450. Hope someone has some tips - sorry for any mistakes i'm not native english speaker,

  2. That type of artifacting is common to all MPEG 1/2/4 codecs, especially at low bitrates. Using a higher bitrate will help (you could use the high bitrate only on your intro).

    Hello,
    Are you using the newer divx code with the High Definition encoding option? You might try that option and encode at the same bitrate. I believe it could produce better results, though it probably will be at the expense of a larger file size. Try it out on a dvd chapter rip to save on processing time.
