i have been using a 118vob movie trailer on flaskmpeg but when it converts to avi its over 3gig in size
the picture quality is perfect but the size is massive
am i doing something wrong?

It looks like ur using uncompressed video. Ur not doing anything wrong.
Could you tell me the width and height of the video.
Do u want to minimise the filesize?? -
its 720 by 480 at 29.97frames converting to the same settings
so how can the file go from 118megs to over 3gigs -
Instead of converting the VOB to uncompressed AVI, you can use DVD2AVI and frameserve the VOB to TMPGEnc without taking up 3 gigs of disc space to do it.
Great way to go. See the GUIDES on how to use DVD2AVI, once you get it setup its super easy to use.
