  1. Hi all

I'm having problems getting my DVD-rom to read DVD-r i've burnt. I have used SVCD2DVD and also Nerovision Express to burn my home movies onto DVDr. I'm using Ritek GO5 discs and a sony 8x dvd-rw.

The movies play on my DVD Player and in my DVD-rw drive. I even changed my DVD-r drive to a Sony DDU1613 so see if that helped? I can play other DVD-r just not ones I have created

Can anyone please help me before I cry myself stupid?

This is not uncommon. some DVD-ROM drives in computers won't play DVD-r's burnt with a DVD RW drive. Sometimes it takes a firmware update. I know in the case of my AOPEN dvd-rom drive it did.

One way to check, try Nero's INFOTOOL to see what the drive will support. That will tell you right away. Then see if there is a firmware update.

Your dvd-rom is really made by Lite-on model 167T.

  3. If you are a guy, it's OK to cry, just do it in the privacy of your own home and not in front of anyone.
