  1. Hail assembled gurus of the DVD world !

I need help with a specific problem i cant seem to get rid of or find the cause of. Im trying to rip a specific segment of a DVD movie so that i can then include it in a media clip which im creating in Vegas.

Ive done this countless times and have never experienced this issue.
Im using the latest DVD shrink and Vegas 5.

When i look at the VOB of the re-author i just grabbed (using media player), i notice some heavy pixelation stripes in areas of the video. It looks like a satellite TV signal which is experiencing interferance in some areas of the picture. It happens in the same place in the movie every time. If use WinDVD to have a look at the file, its fine - no pixelations or intereference at all.

Is this a codec issue ?

If so, how can i clean out my DVD codecs so that i can find one which works ?

Im really struggling for a solution here and time is running out for the media clip to be completed. Ive tried using 2 different DVD drives and different versions of shrink. Is there another app that does the same thing as shrink as far as capturing raw segments directly off a DVD ?

    All help is TRUELY appreciated.

    Cheers [/b]

Try an older version, like 3.0b5 or something.

Now the VOB looks good in media player but is still pixelating in Vegas. Anyone know how i can specify Vegas to use the mpeg codec i want ?

Thanks for the help by the way gurm
