Possibly...but check to see how many programs you have running that you may not even be aware of

Ctrl+Alt+Delete (once - be careful not to hit twice or that'll restart your computer)

End Task for anything that shouldn't be running - except for Explorer (that'll shut your computer down)

You should disable any Norton software running, as that is definitely slowing you down.

Don't play MP3s while using ulead video studio, and reboot your computer if you had been playing MP3s or video files prior to using ulead video studio.

If your hard drive is full or near full, that'll slow you down as well - try to delete as many files as you may not need to store on the computer.

Another thing that can slow you way down is having a lot of Fonts

Your processor in general plays a big part in the speed and perfomance though.

If you're running Windows XP, I'd go with 512mb at the minimum. XP is slow with 256mb. I'm running 1gb.

If its a store bought computer go to the manufacturers website to see what type of ram it has, and you want a total of 512 ram for running xp well.
