    Hi,
I was talking to a guy at work today and he told me that i should always burn on DVD-r disc's rather than DVD+r disc's.
I can see that there might be compatibility issues between different DVD players when using + or -, but difference in the actual quality of the finished Audio and Video on + or - disc's, doesn't really make sense.
    Any opinions?
    Thanks.

Yes, dvd +R is better quality because plus is good, like it means to have something added, like plus/ addition and -R is minus and that means to take away or subtract which is not good. so +R is gooder than -R, and my grandad always use to say to me, he say, "Boy, I'd rather eat good food than bad food any ole day", and I lived by thiose words when i buy the dvd discs +R because u know it has to be the bester one.

    If in doubt, Google it.

  6. Data is data.

Whether or not all your hardware can write to it and then subsequently play it back is another matter, however.

In general, DVD-R is more compatible than DVD+R for video.
There are more good DVD-R available than DVD+R, in terms of Media ID's

Video quality is irrespective of format. If you allocate the same amount of data space to a video file, it will look the same on either disc. I've burned the same stuff to TDK -R and +R, and not seen any difference in quality even on a plasma TV.

The two big factors that contribute to the result you get are the actual quality of the media (cheapies like DigiMedia or MediaCache are best avoided) as well as the compatibility between players and media. Toshiba players don't seem to like any + media at all, and they don't seem to be all that good at playing back -R at all. My new LG player, on the other hand, plays back +R beautifully, while occasionally having small hiccups with -R. I'm sure your mileage will vary according to the player you have.
