    i used to b able to do this with goldwave no problem,but i had to format pc recently & now it refuses to do it,virtualdub refuses too.How can i get the audio out of this bastarding xvid,i seem to have ac3 codecs installed fine,any help would b appreciated

    check it with Gspot to see if you do have the right codec(s) installed.

    try install the AC3 ACM Decompressor and you should be able to use virtualdub to extract to wav.
