  1. Dunno if this goes here or not, but...

I've been trying to use Acoustica DVD Label to make a case cover for a DVD. Problem is that the covers NEVER seem to fit on standard US paper, or so the program says, but what it actually does is print the cover to paper, but makes it too small, like a whole half inch short from side to side.

    How to I avoid this?

  3. I don't use the program you mentioned I just use Photoshop and make my cover 274x183 mm. It barely fits on a standard letter size page. You also have to adjust your printer settings. You have to maximize the margins or set the printer to borderless mode so it will print right up to the edge. Don't forget if you use borderless mode the printer will usually print the picture slightly bigger (Canon printer defaults to 4%) but there's usually a slider you can adjust it back to real size.

what i do is make it photoshop, then save it and open in Nero Cover Designer, it resizes it to a good size, then print it on Legal size paper (8.5" x 14", i think)

  5. I use "hp everyday semi-gloss photo paper" 8 1/2" X 11", 45 lb...it was $15 at Office Depot for 100 sheets.

    To print inserts I use a Photoshop image 10.7" X 7.25" at 300 pixels/inch, but here's a little trick I do too...

I cut 3" off the end of one of the sheets and lightly tape it on the backside to a fresh sheet to make it 8 1/2" X 14" and use it like a "leader" on the printer feed end. Then...

I have an epson printer and which allows a minimum margin of .116 so I did some math and found that if I set the left margin to 2.884 it will start printing right at the edge where the "leader" meets and I only have to trim about .3 off the other end when it is done.

I'm sure those won't be the same numbers for you, but hopefully you get the idea. It works great for me!

u Have 3 options here purchase a printer that allows borderless printing as most of the Epson photo quality printers do, use legal paper in yuor printer(but its hard to find HQ paper at legal size, finally tape a 3 inch leader to your high res paper to account for the limitations of your printer

  7. After wasting much ink, I got it, had to mess with the printer options and adjust the page by moving it 40mm to the left. Seems to have worked out, thankx!
