Two DVD and DivX Player questions in one

1: Is the DVD player bundled with UNLEAD Movie Factory 3 Region locked?

I can't seem to find any command to change the regions

2: I have downloaded the DivX 2.0 Alpha player, but, sometimes it either won't play MP4's files or will only play the video and not the sound.

Yet, I have no trouble playing these same files using Apple Quick Time. Or changeing them to MPEG 1 using TMPGe
