  1. I'm scanning in some photos for use in a vcd slide show/photo album. What resoultion should I scan them in at?

  2. For NTSC, scan at any size higher than 704x480 (704x576 for PAL). However, you have to do an aspect conversion to make the pictures look correct. Normal 4:3 aspect ratios are 640x480, 800x600, 1280x960. When you want to burn them onto a VCD, you should convert them to 704x480. This is not a simple resize, but also a change in aspect ratio. The picture will look stretch horizontally on the PC, but will be shown correctly on the TV monitor.
    So, capture any 4:3 image size and convert the image to 704x480.
