  1. I have a DVD (it is a copy)
The audio is out of sync and I would like to repair it.

I have ripped the dvd with DVD-decrypter so I have the VOB files.

But the question is, what's next?

    grtz

How did you copy the disc? if you just copied it with something like DVDshrink then the audio shouldn't be out of sync.

  3. You'll probably have to make a new DVD with its own menus, as it's difficult to edit a VOB file and still have it work with the original menus. Maybe someone else can suggest a free VOB editor which would do this job, but I don't know of one.

Personally I would fix the audio sync with NeroVision Express as part of creating a new DVD. It has an Edit module with a timeline view that lets you offset the audio and video tracks. I've used it to fix an audio sync problem of about 1 second with an xvid AVI.

Otherwise you'll probably want to use whatever apps you have or can download to demultiplex the video and audio tracks, offset the audio by the amount required to fix the sync (experiment), and remake the VOB file. VirtualDub could do part of the job, although it can't make VOB files.

Of course if the sync mismatch isn't constant, it gets a lot more difficult.

  4. I don't care to make a new DVD as long as I can make the sound sync.

Ames315 already gave you your answer. You cannot magically make the video and audio come into sync. You'll need to do it yourself via software like Ames315 suggested.

You could turn the sound up real loud and keep moving farther away until it the audio seems like it's synced up.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

I know, but how do I do that using nerovcision.

I open NeroVision and say Make DVD>DVD Video

In that I do Add Video Files and select all the Vob files

They are imported and i hit the edit movie button, but then what?

I'm looking for a sort of timeline where I can move the sound around
I know by what time the sound is out of sync; 0,2 secs.

  9. If you don't care about the menus you could:
    1. Demux the VOBs with VOBedit. You will end up with separate video and audio (and subtitle if any) files.
    2. Using IFOedit author a new DVD with the files from step 1. You can keep chapter points with IFOedit but not menu structure. IFOedit allows you to set a delay for both audio and subtitle streams.

You could follow steps 4, 5 and 6 from this https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?link=487 guide.

If you want to have menus then you will have to use the demuxed files to author the DVD with something else (e.g. DVDlab).

    Hope this helps.
    It wasn't me.
