Video clips in MemoriesOnTV

I'm using trial version of MemoriesOnTV. The picture effects and transitions work fine with photos, but when I import video clips and select the effects and transitions they don't work. I assumed the effects and transitions would work for video or else the option would not be there to apply them. For the life of me I can't see what I'm doing wrong. Can someone help me out?

I haven't seen where you can select effects or tansitions on videos in Memoriesontv. I do them in Windows Movie Maker, save as avi. then the effects and transitions show in Memoriesontv.
