90% of annual income. Because I work for a video company, everything I make from here is video related. Mind you, it has nothing to do with the kind of video work we discuss here, but it is video related.

I also do some part time consulting. Hardly any of it is video related.

oh yeah, must spend ~£200 a year on discs and cases. and about £800 a year on AV/PC gear. scrap that, it's actually way higher, must have spent close to £2,000 this year with the TV, DVD player, cables, Freeview PVR, mini-computer, extra networking gear etc etc.....

Nothin yet, keyword here is yet. Do have two demo VCD's from two seperate bands that were given away, good advertising, my nepeadigital.com logo went on them. Both of which were very well recieved.

I'm going to be doing a commecial soon, be my first real paying video job. No live video though all 3-d animation. Need a better cam, I refuse to put my name on anything that is substandard.

JVC GY-DV5000 We have these at work, and they are a good DV camera. Get the IDX NP-1 Lithium Ion batteries, they last for about 3 hours of shooting in this camera. Also look at the BR-DV3000 or 6000 deck for your computer. All 3 of those machines will take miniDV cassettes as well as the larger DVcam cassettes. There is a sweet litle hard drive that can be attached to the back of the 5000 if you want to go tapeless. Alternate tape machine would be one of the Sony DVcam decks so that you could playback Panasonic DVCpro tapes for editing.

I make my entire income on video related work, and have for the last 15 years.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

so far, $2... but the same disc that has netted me $2 is acting as a promo that may snag me at least one $200-300 job later this year.
