  1. I just purchased Premiere 6.5 a few days ago so I have been reading up on it, I haven't found what I'm doing wrong here. The only way I can see my opacity rubberband is if I have it on the Video 2, or higher, line of the timeline. But when I put my video on Video 2, I can't get my transitions to drop to the timeline. Seems like it has to be on Video 1. Also, I didn't think it mattered, but my transitions will only stay on the timeline if I'm in A/B editing mode. If I'm on single track mode it won't stay. If I drag a transition over to the timeline and unclick, then nothing happens, unless I switch to A/B editing mode. Any help would be appreciated.

  2. Ok, I've found a work around, but I would like to ask if this is how others do it. I recorded a 20min clip from my Digital 8 sony camcorder as an avi file. I dropped that clip into my project in 6.5. I added that clip to my timeline. To make transitions work, the clips have to be on 1a and 1b, but when they are on 1a or b, you can bring up the opacity rubberband. So, whenever I need to do a transition, I cut a segment of video and drop it down to 1a and b, then when I need to adjust opacity, the razor again and move back up to the video 2 line. I end up with lots of small clips on different video lines. Is this normally how its done?
