Hello,
i'm trying to make a DVD of cartoon episodes i have taped. some of the episodes are a multi-part episodes. for those i'd like to be able stick a still image between them to show the title of the upcoming episode, if you directly select a part other than the first from the menu. but if you are watching the first part of the episode, i'd like it to automatically play the next episode, not the image then the next episode.
example:
clip A (part 1), image file (title of part 2), clip B (part 2)
(1) if i choose clip A from the menu, it would play clip A and then "play next" clip B when A is done.
(2) if i choose clip B, it would show the image file with the episode title and then play clip B.
is this possible with DVDWS 2? from what i recall there was play next title or menu choices when you right-click the clip file in edit and set the "play next", but not sure how to "choose" what clip...
if this is not possible in DVDWS, can DVDlab do this?
thanks for any help!
and if lordsmurf reads this.....THANKS for your guides!! finally putting my old toons on DVD![]()

I'm pretty sure that DVD-lab can do this easily. Set it up thusly:
Since there is no really easy way to create a PLAY ALL button in DVD-lab I would make all the episodes ONE LONG CLIP with chapters between them instead of breaking them up into seperate clips. That way if you want to play all the way through from episode 1 to say, episode 20, it will do so without having to go back to the menu.
Ok onto the descriptive images. In the main menu create a link for all the different episode chapters but DON'T point them to the chapters themselves. Instead direct them to another menu page which contains your image and or descriptive text for that episode. Create a 15-20 second timeout on each of these menus which then directs the player to move onto the actual chapter of that episode. You may also want to create a play button on this page that will move on immediately if you don't want to wait the 15-20 seconds.
The way this will work is that when you select pt1 it goes to the description of part one and then onto that episode and since all the epiosdes are part of one clip it will continue on playing straight through to the last episode without ever showing another description. If you select pt3 it will go to the descriptor menu for pt3 and then continue playing to the last episode with no further description and so on.
I hope this is what you wanted.
