  1. I have an mpg video file that i am having trouble playing on my pentium 2.

I would like to break up that 1 GB file into 700 MB so that i can play it on my TV.?

I would like to install a dvd burner but even then i don't think my pentium 2 can handle that--- your opinion needed.

    thanks
I have about 110 GB worth of imp mpg video format copied from my friend now i am unable to play that on my comp as the video is not smooth and even the voice has problems.

sometimes when i download movies from MIRC in mpg format i have no prob playing them.

is there something i can do to the mpg stuff i have --- i mean convert into someother format so i am able to play it on my pentium 2?

You have to replace your p2 and buy a newer system to play mpeg2 more smoother,no way around it.

  4. Tell me if this idea will work.

I cut the mpeg into 700 MB files and burn them onto CD and then play them on my TV, my new DVD player plays mpeg.

    Is this possible.

if the above is possible should i convert into VCD or SVCD or just keep plain MPEG?

    thanks
eagerly waiting for answer.I am planning to build my own PC sometime soon---

keep the mpgs the way they are, converting will lose quality.Burn the mpgs using vcdeasy or nero vcd/svcd mode. They should play fine on your home dvd player then.

    Hello,
If there vcd use minutes not megabytes. Just about 80 minutes will fit onto an 80 minute cdr. I believe svcd goes about 40 minutes per disc (I've read people talk about 3 svcd discs for a regular movie). I hope this helps.

P.S. This has to be in vcd or svcd format. Or if it reads the mpeg it should be small enough to burn to disc.
