  1. Do you need 2 drives to use DVD shrink 3.1 to shrink and burn a dvd. By that I mean do you need at least one dvdr/w drive and at least a second dvdr drive. I only have a dvdr/w and a second cdr/w drive however when I was using DVD Shrink 3.1. the destination where it was going to burn the cd was where I had the original dvd that I shrunk(dvd r/w drive) and as a result I could not complete the burning process cause it was going to burn over my original.

Help me please. Any ideas or sugggestions for me to solve this problem is appreciated. Thanks.

No, rip and shrink the movie, then put in a blank dvd to burn.

  4. The original dvd gets ripped to and shrunk on your hard drive. You'd be burning from there, not from the original. Once Shrink does its work, you remove the original and insert a blank. The original is a pressed disc and wouldn't burn over even if you tried. My personal preference, however, is to use a separate reader (dvd-rom) since it rips faster than & leads to less wear & tear on my burner.

  5. If burning target is is .iso and you launch dvddecrypter to burn that you might encounter "this volume is locked" or something like that. In that case in the settings in dvddecrypter uncheck under the tab 'iso write mode' the 'lock volume for exclusive access' and voila problem solved.
