  1. In IfoEdit under the "Static" section of the Video Attributes dialog box, what is the difference between the settings "Automatic Letterboxed" and "Letterboxed (top&bottom cropped)"? The dialog box allows for either, neither, or both to be checkmarked.

I guess if you selected Automatic Letterboxed then when you play it will add black bars to the top and bottom in the player. If it's widescreen video then it will be OK but a 4:3 will probably look stretched widthways

the top and bottom cropped option will not add the bars but stretch it vertically and partially cut off the top and bottom of the pic

it all depends on what the video is as to which combo you would use I suppose

    this link might help

  3. Thanks. The video source is anamorphic 16:9 (captured by a Sony camcorder), transferred to a DVD+RW disk on a Philips DVDR80 recorder. Based on what I have read and tried so far, it looks like "Automatic Letterboxed" is what is needed so the disk plays correctly on my 4:3 TV now, and will play correctly on a 16:9 TV when I get one some day.
