I really loved the Fallout RPG games especially Fallout 2 which has to be one of the best games I have ever played. Unfortunaly, Fallout 2 was very buggy, even after the final patch. I never got to finish the game because near the very end, the game crashed and my save-game was corrupted. And to add insult to injury, I can't get Fallout 2 to work with Windows XP.
Recently, I found Icewind Dale I and II in a bargain bin. After playing the first game a little, I can say that it is ok, but not nearly as good as Fallout. The problem is that besides the froofy "magical" setting of elves and wizards which I was never a big fan of, Icewind Dale has real-time combat. One of the best parts of Fallout was its great turn-based combat. Real-time is kind of a pain in the ass and not nearly as fun imo.
My question is, can anybody recommend an RPG game that has turn-based combat that is also as similar to the Fallout series as possible in interface if not in content. Thanks.
And no, I have never played Tactics and I have no desire to.

The only RPG I do now is Ultima Online. Real time combat though, and you play with and against other people.

Oh wait, this thread is about something else."There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon." -- Raoul Duke -

OK. Now -- Lavitra may do the trick, if the fall-out occurs due to less than optimal rgidity during copulation.
** Remeber though -- If an erection lasts more than 4 hours, you should see a physician immediately. If the wife will let you out of the bedroom, that is !!
