  1. Hi world,

I am not exactly sure whether this may be appropriate for another forum. But trying my luck here. Here's the situation so far:

    (1) Backed up a movie, Used DVD Shrink and created the folder(about 2GB). This folder is ready to be burnt

    (2) Backed up another Music DVD, Used DVD Shrink and created another folder(about 2.35 GB). This folder is also ready to be burnt.

Now I thought it might be a easy deal to use TMPGEnc Author to combine these two folders and burn them into one DVD. But when I tried to combine the two together, I get the message that"Video Aspect 4:3 is not compatible with the current track" and "Audi Existence differes from present track". What I am guessing is that the VOB files in both these folders are not standardized?? I am not sure what to do now??

How do I combine these two folders into one DVD? Is there some other software which I need?

    As usual, thanks a bunch!!

You could put the 2nd folder onto a 2nd track. They'd both be on the same DVD and you could select which track to play from the main menu.

  3. Thanks for the reply. As suggested I put the 2nd folder in the 2nd track. But for some reason, the audio files are not getting populated. But when I play the tracks(VOB files) individually, I can hear the audio loud and clear. But when I am using TMPGEnc Author, the audio does not populate!!

Any ideas as to what could be the reason?? Thanks..

What type of audio. If it's ac3 then DVD Author won't play it (unless you have the ac3 plugin), but it will be there when you create the disk files.

  5. Thanks for the reply. I have a very basic question here How do I identify the audio type for the VOB file. I have tools like VideoTool Box, but that does not recognize VOB files.

And you mention that if its AC3, DVD Author won't play but it will be there when you create the disk files. I tried the DVD Author bit, and then played it individually. But there was no sound. Do I have to burn it and then play it on a DVD player to get the sound. Also this AC3 plugin-where do I get the latest version. Is it freeware.

    Appreciate any reply. Thanks.

DVD Author shows the audio type. When you add the DVD to DVD Author, look at the audio setttings under Clip Information when you add it.

I tried the DVD Author bit, and then played it individually. But there was no sound.

I'm not sure what you mean by "played it individually". If it's AC3 then you only have to create the DVD files with DVD Author and the audio should be there when you play those files with PowerDVD or other DVD player on your computer.

  7. When I add the DVD Video to DVD Author, I have the Audio to Use for Selected File as: Audio 1 Dolby Digital9AC-3) 48000 Hz, 6 ch. I select this and click next. Then I get the box titled: Add Clip on Top. This has the Video Settings(populated with the correct values) and Audio Settings(Audio Input File Name-Unpsecified and Audio Input Format-There is no audio).

When I played individually, I meant after the DVD Author was done, I double clicked on the file in my PC(using Power DVD), and I got just the video, not the audio.

    Any ideas?? Thanks.

Is there more than one audio? You might try a different one if there's more than one. If that doesn't work then I'm out of ideas. If you don't get any other suggestions then you might have to try some different software. The only software I've used with any success is PowerProducer 3.0 Gold from Cyberlink. They have a 30 day trial. I've seen it for less than $10 here:

    https://www.softwareoutlet.com/

I've never purchased from them so I can't recommend (or not recommend) them.

  9. There is only one audio there. So I cannot choose anything else. But heres the funny thing. The first file which I was successful in authoring had the same Audio Settings as the unsuccessful files. So there must be some other reason, I guess

  10. bappida69, why don't you use DVD Shrink to make your compilation?
Is it because you want to add menus to it?

Maybe you could try using DVD Shrink to make the compilation, then import that compliation in DVD Author to make the menu?

  12. Thasts right, ddlooping. Since these are two separate files, I wanted to have menus for this.

Bobk, I used DVDShrink to compile these two files and then tried to use DVD Author for the menus. So I have the detailed list showing up in DVD Author. But for the problematic files(??) still does not show up any audio. So I am back to square one

I know you initially used DVD Shrink on each file separately and then tried to bring them in to DVD Author, but did you try combining both of them using Shrink?
