When downloading movie files off of suprnova.org, when I download say, an entire season of some tv show, it’s split into 22 different files (one for each episode). When one is finished, though, it won’t let me play it until all of the episodes are downloaded. They’re usually xvids, GSPOT doesn’t even recognize it as a valid .avi file until all of the flies are downloaded. So my question is this: how can I watch the first few episodes, which are complete, while the others are still downloading? I’d appreciate any help.

My advice:
If the episodes are available on DVD, buy them. It's not worth the hassle of downloading (usually) crappy re-encodes.
If that's not the case, there's a program called eDwatch that you can use to preview. The side benefit is that it will create an AVI which you can convert and burn, if you'd like. -
Programs like Bit torrent download the files in pieces. chances are the file is not fully complete as the files are not downloaded in order. And usually the stuff you get is crap. it's much better to just go out and buy the dvd. you'll get better video and sound quality.

The first few episodes are the same size now as when they're all done downloading, but they just won't play. The first season ones were fine rips, i'm not going to spend $50 on DVDs that are only good the first time through.
