I have a 52x32x52 CD-writer and i am using 48x CD-R's but my problem is it takes 12mins to fill a whole CD and i have been told it should take about 4-5mins i use nero 5.5 and i did the CD speed test and the highest it got was 9.76x the CD writer is only 3months old so i don't think it is faulty can any one think of any thing i could try to make it get its full speed i may have a setting wrong am not sure. the CD writer has buffer under run on it would that slow it down?
Thanks for any help!

Make sure your cabling and jumper settings are correct. end of cable = master.... middle of cable = slave (if two drives) ..... improper settings can cause verrrryyyyy slow access / speeds.
Check device manager ... make sure drive is set to DMA and not PIO....
