  1. I'm trying to encode a movie into mpg format to burn on to a VCD. Problem is, the encoding job was horrible. The mpg didn't fit the screen, choppy, and black spots all over. So I'm looking for a better encoding program. I was using TMPGenc and I would like teh next software to have the same audio and video directory because I seperate the video and the audio.

  3. In other words, I was using TMPGenc and it messed up. So now I want to try a new encoding software with the same options as TMPGenc.

  4. your options are set up wrong.
read one of the guides on the left.
also make sure that you select say,"full screen-keep aspect ratio" in the settings of tmpgenc settings.
that will make the video much bigger than the tv,so youll get cutoff,on the top and bottom and possibly the sides too.

  5. That solves 1 problem, . I still got to worry about the choppy screen and black pauses.

I'll let you in on a little secret, a lot of people use TMPGEnc with excellent results.

In other words ,you may want to try again.

You also didn't mention : source, source bitrate, encoding method used.
FYI : VCD is not all that great. It has limitations.

And why if the name of [insert diety here] do you need seperate audio and video if you are making VCD?

  8. I've checked the .avi and it is perfect, but when it encodes it all goes to hell. Choppy screen, missing scenes. I've did this with other files and they were great, everything perfect. With this one, it is crap.

It was a mkv file, I had to. Then I use TMPGenc to put it back up. I know I can get codecs, but I'm lazy.

    Edit: I meant .mkv

  10. I found the problem. Everytime I add the sound to it, the video goes bad. Anyone have the solution to that? I'm used a ac3 audio then converted into ogg because TMPGenc wouldn't accept ac3 files.

  12. I don't think I need to, I use VirtualDubMod to save it into the wav files. TMPGenc won't use them though.....

  13. Now I use VirtualDubMod to convert into avi and I also fixed the enviromental settings of TMPGenc to suit the avi. Now TMPGEnc keeps crashing, I don't know why.
