  1. I know I'm beeing a stubborn son of a b****! But please!!!

Has ANYONE got a suggestion how to solve the 'jerking video syndrome' when converting from 29.97fps NTSC to 25fps PAL???

The pro's (TV/MOVIE) can do it, so it is possible, but how can I do it?

    HELP!

  2. Here's an idea... take your 29.97 VCD and play it in a DVD player and hook that up to the back of your capture card on your computer and capture the video. Forget about converting, just recapture. I can't imagine the quality loss would be that bad.

    Thanks,

but my problem is that I can't play a NTSC VCD in my DVD. That's why I insist on converting NTSC to PAL. But anyway, a really good tip, that I would try if I could, but if I could, I wouldnt have to convert... Catch 22

  5. Go to videotools.net and look at the latest help document for avisynth, there's a script there for NTSC to PAL conversion using avisynth.

    paramute,

Well, since you didn't say how go arrived at your source (avi or dvd2avi, etc. ) I have to assume I have no idea, else. . . . . . .

I know your NOT gonna like this, but heck, ...why don't you just go out and get another (CHEAP) dvd player? $89 might do it.

If it wasn't thata I just bought a DVD/VCD player 2 weeks ago, I'd consider your advice. But then, there must be several people here in the same situation as me.

The AviSynth suggestion is one that I haven't explored yet, but how can I get it to work with 1) TMPGENC 2) VirtualDUB 3)Flask? (In listed order)

My sources are mainly MPEG1 NTSC or AVI/DIVX NTSC (Yes! I admit, I'm a Trekker!!!)...

  8. You install it and then open the scripts. Don't think it will work with flask but it works with both TMPGEnc and VDub, the doom9.org forum has a section and guides dedicated to it.
