I feel sorry for smokers. They are gullible people with addictive personalities who got into it in the mistaken belief that it is cool, rather than a filthy disgusting habit that is very likely to shorten their life (by an averegae of 10 years) and kill them. Threads like this make me laugh because you can hear the sheer desperation coming through from the potheads and other smokers. It is pitiful, but you will never realise how much until you actually give up. It is never too late. A recent survey showed that even if you have been smoking for a number of years, you can substantially lengthen your life by kicking the habit.

This has been a public service announcement from either a self-righteous reformed smoker, or just someone who likes to give others shit!

yeah, that's kind of strong, but the bullshit is hiding a diamond of truth. it does shorten your life but the damage can be overcome after many years. what you choose to do is up to you.

Actually, the diamond of truth in there is that it is a disgusting habit. It makes your breath foul, your clothes stink, and the general area around you unpleasant to be in. As to whether it shortens your life or not, well, so does an unexpected encounter with a bus. Contrary to what we seem to be taught to expect these days, we're not all going to live forever.
