    what codec do i need for this to playback ok

    for some reason, i cant find one to do this

    you didn't install it from a codec pack did you? try a fresh reinstall of it or even Divx Light from the tools section. you can also try ffdshow. if none of that works you have some serious issues with the codecs on your PC.
