I installed the "Elecard MPEG2 codec" a while ago. I removed it but it's still there. I have another on but Elecard still does the stupid dancing symbol thing and I can't find where it is exactly on my computer. It's bugging the hell out of me and I want this stupid Elecard thign removed. I've looked into Add/Remove programs and Find but I can't seem to locate it. Could someone please help? I don't want a stupid dancing thing everytime I try to watch MPEG2.

open the control panel and click on "sounds and audio devices" and under the hardware tab click on the video codecs, then the properties tab, and it lists all the codecs on your system. you can remove it form that list.

Well it got worse. I decided to go into my registry and delete the registry keys containing Elecard. It worked. But now I can't play Mpeg, avi and wav. THose are the files I have checked so far. I have the codecs needed installed but it doesn't work. I try to open and it says the format is not supported or it is corrupt. I know it is not corrupt because I played it before and it worked perfectly. I play it on DivX and it works fine. By the way I am talking about playing on Windows Media Player for Windows 98. So this has switched over to help in getting avi and mpeg to play on WMP and to get vobsub to work on it. I really need help now.

Just to mention that DXMan is installed and I got rid of Elecard on there too. It says everything is installed but I really need help in getting MPEG and AVI to play. I just realized that I can't play MPEG on anything on my computer. Is there an MPEG1 codec? [/i]
