  1. I want to add a basic title to the start of a movie, name, date etc, etc. What's the best way of doing this? My OS is Windows 2000 so I cannot use Movie Maker 2.

you can use Virtualdub, or Wax. both freeware.

this should really be in "Editing, Cutting & Joining", not "DVD Authoring".

make them as a seperate file so you dont have to re-encde your mpeg file ..

just make a title card as you want to in paintshop or ms paint or something like that and save it as a bmp

load the bmp into tmpgenc and load a dummy audio file of 10 sec lenth into tmpgenc (it can be anything as long as it about 5-10 seconds)

encode to elem. mpeg2 matching nearly the specs of your film mpeg 2

join both together or author them so that title plays first then movie (better way)

you may need some real audio for your title card to match the specs of your movie audio

    so do it ..

    So?

Use Premiere or any other editing/effects software.
