I have an ADVC100 and after perusing these forums it seems that others who have this A/D convertor recommend capturing with Scenalyzerlive. I gave it a try and seem to capture ok with Scenalyzer but the resulting .avi's will not run in media player or open in virtualdub or other encoders.

Can someone recommend specific configurations for this software or otherwise address my problem?

    Thanks.

You need to install a dv codec to play the file. Look thru the tools section on the left. You'll find a couple of codecs to choose from.

I have the panasonic DV codec.

DV.avi's captured through all my other software encoders (Ulead Videostudio/ Powerdirector/ DVIO etc) work as expected. I'm thinkin it is somthing to do with Scenalyzer capture config.

Check the file menu | options. Is the video set to Type 2 DV?

Canopus type DV can only be opened with Canopus DV codec. Try setting scenalyzer to microsoft type DV type 2 and other DV codecs should work. Alternatively install canopus DV codec.

    Thanks Ronnylov,

I have the canopus codec installed to no avail. I did however try DV type 2 and it worked the treat. I captured 2 hours of video, encoded to DVD then after all that time I noticed that Scenalyzer I downloaded has put watermarks through the entire compilation.... bah.. my bad.
