  1. I use my old Panasonic WJ-AVE5 video proccessor (remember when video editing was done with tapes!) it makes every video tape i've put on my DVD recorder rock solid and stable. You will probably pick one up cheap on ebay.
I could dance with you till the cows came home..... on second thoughts i'd rather dance with the cows till you came home.

That JVC 9600 VCR probably has an excellent comb filter, along with the built-in line TBC, DNR and image enhancement circuits. So, use your eyes and best judgement - do a couple of test captures using both composite and S-Video to see how it looks.

I did not get a AVT-8710... I picked up a pro broadcast type TBC made by FOR-A for cheap. It produces a very stable, noise free image and has some nice video processing controls, but it softens the picture a bit too much for my taste.

Yes, those are supposed to be decent... I think they have a TBC built in them, too?

An inexpensive but good color corrector is the Panasonic PV-CC50-K ( R/B balance, tint, color intensiti, sharpnes, video & S-video inputs and outputs).
You listed the PV-CC50-K with all of the TBCs. Does this unit serve as a TBC also?

The Panasonic PV-CC50-K is only color corrector and simple titler.
