Hi everyone,
I'm new to all of this and have been trying to read through the articles and forums but I am still lost.Just now figured how to copy dvds.
![]()
I have a lot of anime that I downloaded and I'd like to create dvds out of them to play on my regular dvd player. Up til recently, I have been wasting a lot of money on Ebay purchasing anime on dvds that are the same fansub files that I have.![]()
Anyway, most of the files are in AVI (divx/xvid) format while others are in wmv or mpg format. I'm really confused as to how to go about creating the dvd. Do I have to convert the files to a DVD format and then use something else to burn or is there a simpler way?
Right now I am using DVDDecrypter and DVD Shrink along with nero for copying DVDs. I also downloaded WinAvi trial version since it is supposed to be able to convert all files to DVD. However, when I tried to burn the files with WinAvi, the dvd stayed blank even though it looked like it went through the burning process.
Can someone please help? I have been trying to figure all this out for months and it's driving me nuts.![]()
Thanks!

OK.
There's a few tips and tricks associated with what you wish to do. If you are prepared to read we can all assist in solving your problem. I would start with What is DVD at the top left of this page. It probably won't make much sense for now but it contains all the vital info that you'll need to know.
You should then try one of the guides in the Convert to DVD MPEG-2 section. I know there are a lot of guides and it can be a bit overwhelming, but stick at it. There is at least one guide in there that specifically uses WinAVI.
See how you go, and if you have any specific problems, post back or search the forums. If in doubt, Google it. -
I think we've found a perfect candidate for Sonic MyDVD!

TMPGEnc DVD source creator is very easy to learn and set up for batch processing to convert your movies to dvd-compliant mpeg and has 30-day free trial. Then you need authoring program to assemble the mpegs into burnable files. TMPGEnc dvd author can do this for you and is also very easy to learn and use. I believe that this also has a free trial, but will not support ac3 unless you purchase full version with ac3 plug-in. Best of luck.
