After going to cdcovers.cc I ended up with a virus or (several) don't remember clicking on anything, but that's beside the point now. Anyway my Trend PC-cillian antivirus is picking them up but I can't seem to get rid of them. What I'm getting is this:
    TROJ REVOP.F (D:\temp\bdl14025.exe)
    TROJ BLAZEFind (D:\temp\omnigate.exe)
    ADW SOLU180.B (D:\temp\msbb.ex

I have my PC-cillian set to Quarantine and when I go to delete them it shows that it's being done, but in a couple of days they're back again, (or maybe they're not really gone) I read in another thread that you need to turn off System Restore before you delete, will this solve my problem?

If so, can you tell me the procedure to turn off and then back on System Restore, I don't want to screw things up with my limited computer knowledge? Does this need to be done before my antivirus picks them up or just before you delete? Thanks!

    Mike

Boot to safe mode and then run your antivirus software.

Also turn off your System Restore if it is on. Virii love to hide there. You should also do a disk cleanup...delete temp files, internet cache, and cookies.

  4. If you still cannot remove them after above suggesstions go to the symantec web site and search for your virii --- they may have other suggessions and toolls to assist in proper removal.

To turn off system restore: start>control panel>system click the sytem restore tab in the upper left hand corner then check turn off sytem restore. Leave it unchecked, if you wish to use it manually start it before installing software or devices. After installing if everthing is fine for a day or two check it again to not run.

Would there be a reason my antivirus won't scan in safe mode, because it won't?

I did a quick search for your viruses, all come up on spyware info pages. Have you ever run adaware on your comp? If not I suggest you do, it might remove the scumware for you automatically and it's free. http://www.lavasoftusa.com After Then go here and download Spybot, it does the same thing but will get some things adware will miss and vice versa http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html . Make sure you update the reference files on both before running either program. Probably find all kinds of stuff if you never ran them. If that fails to remove them do a search for each filename, you'll find much info on how to manually remove them.

Thanks I'll keep trying. Yes I have and use AD-aware, SpyBot, SpywareBlaster and PestControl and they do find some of these but can't always get rid of them. My PC-cillian also detects spyware that's why it was picking them up, but it calls them a trojan so I just assumed it was a virus.

I'll rerun all my spyware again with System Restore off and see if it makes a difference.

After I have ran all my various spyware programs and deleted everything I can, should I turn System Restore back on or wait a few days?

I don't use it all, like I said before you can manually turn it on and off. Turn it on when making any system changes (e.g MS updates, new drivers, ect.) If everthing goes well after your changes for a few days turn it back off.

Okay I understand. Well There back again, as soon as my antivirus detects and quarantines them and I delete them, later in the day or the next day I have them again. All the spyware I have and my antivirus just cannot rid my computer of them.
