This was something my other thread was pointing to but was getting away from the original guestion somewhat I felt.
Anyway to cut a long story short I've been told by Richer Sounds that all there multi region dvd machines are chipped.
The model in particular I asked about is the Yamada DVR8000. They claimed this has also been chipped but I cant find any info from any site I've come by that lists even the brand as a chipable model. Even the company that chipe the machines for Richer Sounds has no info on there website on the model
So does anyone know one way or another if this means they have been lying to me & others who have bought this model (not yet bought it though) ot that there is a chip available for it?.

Thanks m8, pretty much how I feel they are upgrading the R2 model. Just gotta get out of them why they are therefor claiming lack of R2 models when all they are doing is firmware upgrading them & claiming them as chipped & charging for the job they have done at no cost!.
Or I may just sod things & go for a better model in the Philips one. But guess that will also be out of stock but have mulit region only in again?.
