  1. I use DVDdecrypter to decode
Then Instant Copy 8 (updated) to backup to my hard drive
Then DVDdecrypter to burn the .pdi files to Fujifilm DVD-R

    Problem:
Weather I chose "movie only" or "complete", the results are always the same: The disk will freeze up almost immediately during the pre-movie logo screen. If I am fast enough I can skip to the next chapter before this happens, then the DVD will keep playing until the end. If the menu was included in the back up then I can use it to start on ch2, but if I try to start from Ch1 the same thing will happen. Has anyone else had this problem? I have used DVDdecrypter alone to make backups to the same media with no problems so I guess Instant Copy 8 is the problem.

    Thanks much for any help

how are you ripping the files? Is it in File Mode selecting all files or is it in ISO mode?

regardless, Instantcopy sometimes has issues with certain DVD's when you try to remove stuff. Occasionally if something is called for playback during startup that IC has removed and you have a fussy player then it will just hang or return as the Video is not there at all to play so certain commands may not get executed

if you want to do a movie only then why not try using DVDShrink to rip the DVD but using no compression. You can also remove any audio/subs with DVDShrink to save processing time afterwards with IC

  3. I have seen this ony with Tri Star and other movies.
It came down to removing the sub titles for french/italian, and the disclaimer screen. On mine, it would get caught in a loop until I hit stop. I would then have to hit menu and start the movie from the chapter menu. If I left the French/Italian sub titles in, it didn't have any problems.

Again I only saw this on movies that were Tri Star and another movie company as a joint venture movie....Sorry, can remember the other movie company/logo right now
