  1. I own a Pioneer DVR-7000 burner, and record at least half of my content in VR Mode (which allows you to cram up to 6 hours on a disc, as opposed to 2 hours).

This works fine, until you want to make a copy of the disc. I went out and bought InterVideo DVD Copy 2, thinking it would allow me to make fairly easy copies of my home DVDs, but ran into a lot of trouble.

It turns out DVDs recorded in VR Mode are not looked at as true DVDs by this copy software, and therefore won't copy it.

Does anybody know of another copy utility that does in fact copy VR Mode? Or, alternatively, is there a way for me to convert my VR Mode recordings somehow so that they look like real DVDs?

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried just a straight disc-to-disc copy with Nero or Roxio?

...or is this something you want to play in a normal DVD player?
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

  3. I tried making copies with Ulead DVD Movie Factory, and couldn't get it to work. You think my chances would be better with Roxio?

  4. Download TMPGEnc DVD Author (trialware). It accepts .VRO files (VR mode MPEG2 recordings) and can make a standard DVD out of them.

  5. I'm gonna give TMPGEnc DVD Author a try as soon as I can get the foolish software to let me! (it keeps saying my 30-day trial has expired!)
