  1. Ok when I convert an avi file to mpeg with TMPGEnc, it gives me an error after i'm done encoding. It says "Invalid pointer operation". And then if I try to open it up in windows media player or winamp it doesnt have any sound. I even tried to just burn it to a DVD and it still only had the video and no sound. But this only happend to some of the avi files that I have. So I right clicked each one and click properties and I found out that it only gave me the error and stuff when it was compressed with XVID. All the ones that were compressed with DIVX worked just perfectly so I don't think it gave me the error because the file is corrupted. Maybe because TMPGEnc doesnt work well with XVID or something.

So what I need to know is, what do I do?!

  2. download the codec for XVID 1.01 from the sections on the left.

that sorted my exact same problem,it seems as though there was a few bugs of this sort with the version 1.0 codec for XVID.
